No Evidence of Liberal Bias in Cincinnati Enquirer

Liberal Fix
While at work today I was leafing through the March 31st edition of the Cincinnati Enquirer. On my way to the editorial page I came across a wonderful little bit of news. I would like to stress "little bit".
Buried on page A8 on the side under the section Business Summary was this little gem titled "Local business activity shows 'robust' recovery".
I was amazed. This is incredible news. Why are they not shouting this from the rooftops or at least from the front page? Is this not what we have been wanting to hear? Do we not need cause to hope? Give us reassurance. By gosh, tell us everything is going to be all right.
It seemed odd to me that they did not see this as big news. Maybe it was a big news day. That had to be it. I turned back over to the front page to see what story they were featuring. Above the fold was the story and it was a real doozie. "Schmidt Used To GOP Challengers". Yes, current GOP representative Jean Schmidt is in a primary race to represent the Republican party in November for Ohio's 2nd Congressional District.
I was more than a little disappointed. This was more important than evidence that the city is undergoing a robust recovery. Are you kidding me?
What could be their motivation? What could be their reason for burying such a positive, hopeful and important story?
When I looked at the copy of today's "Enquirer" April 1, 2010 things got curiouser and curiouser. As promised in the March 31'st edition they had indicated that they would feature a story about the Democratic primary for the same seat.
The story was in fact on the front page. This time however, the story was below the fold on the bottom of the page under the title "Three Democrats Seek Chance to Unseat Schmidt".
This was the moment that I recalled who the newspaper had endorsed for President. "This is Sen. John McCain's time." they proclaimed. Of course we all know now that it was not Senator John McCain's time.
I am glad when a newspaper shows their true colors. It takes away the mystery of exactly where their bias lies. We do not have to wonder any more.
We the people, we their readers, might get the impression that it may just be Obama's time and be thankful for it. Their readers might get the impression that this "robust" economic recovery could be attributed at least in part to the economic policies of our current President. Their readers might remember that the "Great Recession" happened under the watch of President George W Bush.
Are they pushing a political agenda? I will answer with all the passion of local boy and hero, GOP House Minority leader, John Boehner. "Hell yes they are!"

And good luck convincing them that GWB is responsible for the recession - I recently read someone saying the current administration had brought America to its knees! Thanks for your articles. Please log in to respond to this comment.
